The Support Menu

I taught a workshop on trauma-informed librarianship & community care for Simon Fraser University library workers & librarians last week ✨

It was an amazing experience & I wanted to share this tool with y'all too πŸ’•

Here's a strategy I use to offer support πŸ’› The support menu ⚑️⚑️⚑️

I create a list of three things I can offer that are within my capacity with emojis so the recipient can simply respond with the corresponding emoji(s) of what they’d like for peer support βœ¨πŸŒΌπŸ’«

Here’s an example:

Here are some ways I’d love to show up for you! Feel free to respond with the corresponding emojis; I know texting can be so exhausting & difficult sometimes, especially when we’re struggling.

πŸ’– Pull an oracle card for you

🧑 Hold space for venting, big feels, whatever you’ve got!

πŸ’› Send cute photos + things from the internet

Leave a comment & let me know what types of things you do to support your loved ones.
