creating as a tool for healing: how creativity & play supports my trauma recovery process

healing is a constellation; there are galaxies of possibilities to transform ourselves & our lives.

one of the ways i find myself exploring the expansiveness of healing; of grieving & letting go; of creating space in my life for new adventures; is through creativity & play.

dedicating more time to creating & committing to my practice through small everyday acts has had a ripple effect upon everything around me.

this post is short & sweet; an offering of a few ways you can use creativity & play as a trauma recovery tool.

how to use creativity & play as a trauma recovery tool

πŸ’– reclaim & share your story on your OWN terms; your art can be for you & you alone or you can share it as a way to create connections, build community, & support each other

πŸ’– process difficult, intense, & ⚑️BIG⚑️ feelings in a creative container of your choice; sometimes getting it literally OUT helps!

πŸ’– express yourself & explore your voice ⚑️ this can be really empowering for those of us who were silenced or struggle with knowing ourselves

πŸ’– creatively channel trauma, thoughts, & feelings into a healthy & safe outlet

πŸ’– make space to be messy & imperfect, to make bad art & experiment, & not only get more comfortable with the mess but to find the ⚑️MAGIC⚑️ within it

how has creating/making/playing helped/supported/sustained you? share your thoughts & experiences in the comments ✨
